Director of Nursing
Heddy Cortijo joined the Plaza Punchbowl in 2014 as a Charge Nurse. She was promoted to Assistant Director of Nursing in 2018, where she assists the Director of Nursing in the operations of the resident care department. In 2019, she was promoted to Director of Nursing for The Plaza at Kaneohe. Heddy was born and raised here on Oahu and attended Moanalua High School. She started her career in the healthcare industry working as a medical assistant and case manager for an agency that worked with the homeless population both in clinic and on outreach. Through her experiences and influences of many of the Nurse practioners there she knew she wanted to further her education and become a nurse. She left there to continue her education and attended Kapiʻolani Community College, where she obtained both her Certificate in Practical Nursing and Associates Degree in Nursing. She later continued on and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Heddy enjoys being a part of the Plaza family and working with our residents and making them feel at home.
