Elizabeth Gerst, MSN, RN

Director of Nursing

Elizabeth Gerst is a Director of Nursing at The Plaza at Mililani. She has a diverse background with over 18 years of experience, being a Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, Clinical Instructor, Unit Manager, Nursing Director, Associate Professor, and an Emergency Room/Psychiatric Nurse. Liz’s commitment to underserved and vulnerable parts of the community, including mental health, addiction, criminals, and age-related health issues, taught her to respectfully care and advocate for the whole person.

Liz is a graduate of Grand Canyon University where she earned her MSN focusing on Nursing Leadership, and a BSN from Stevenson University and Howard Community College. She was an Associate Professor at Notre Dame of Maryland University, developing hybrid learning curriculum for their Nursing Program and teaching Psychiatric Nursing. She supports continuing education and the next generation of nurses and health care staff through coaching and mentoring.

Liz, her husband, and pets reside on Oahu. She has two adult children in Baltimore, Maryland, who are also in the healthcare field (Art Therapy and a Licensed Practical Nurse). She enjoys reading, visiting food trucks, going to the beach, and traveling.
