Leonardo “Leo” Escala
Leonardo D. Escala has been in the Food Service Industry for over 35 years. He worked for 13 years in various prominent five-star hotels around the world from the Philippines to the Middle East. In addition, he worked for 10 years on passenger cruise ships and has a vast amount of knowledge and experience in culinary arts field.
Leo has been apart of The Plaza at Pearl City team since opening in 2014. He began as a Cook and was quickly promoted to Lead Cook, and then eventually Kitchen Manager. Leo’s sharp knife skills are evident and are often on full display through complex food decorations he showcases at community special events and buffets. Leo also pursues and ensures residents and families receive delicious food and experience quality food service.
Leo was born and raised in the Philippines. He currently resides in Waipahu and spends his free time with his wife, Evelen, and son, Leo Jr.
