Food Services Director
Christopher Chung is the Food Services Director at The Plaza at Moanalua. He is responsible for menu and recipe design as well as running the Kitchen and Dining Room Service Teams. He started his culinary career working at his Uncle’s Chinese restaurant in all positions from dishwasher to cashier, delivery driver, cook, and manager.
His Culinary career took a break for a few years while he went to college in the Pacific Northwest and tried to enter the tech sector. He finally took the hint and went to culinary school and worked as a sous chef and Executive chef for various resorts and corporations in Oregon, North Idaho, and Seattle for the past 20 years. After transferring back home to Hawaii, he took the FSD position with The Plaza Moanalua where he strives to bring great quality and flavor to the food while maintaining the strict dietary requirements of the residents.
Christopher is a graduate of The Kamehameha Schools. He is an avid gamer in all forms: video, table-top, and board games. In his spare time he also likes to experiment with new cooking techniques and putting unique or interesting twists on recipes.
