Responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing and Administrator in the operations of the resident care department. Assists with training and orienting of new resident care staff. In times of need works on the floor as a Charge Nurse or Resident Care Aide. Assists and at times conducts regular on-going care staff meetings and in-services. As directed, assigns and delegates responsibilities to resident care staff for residents, based on the qualifications of the staff and needs of the residents. Ensures each resident receives services/care as per Resident Service Plan and in accordance with federal and state regulations and facility policies and procedures. Helps to facilitate communication within the department as well as with other departments and Administration. In the absence of the Director of Nursing, will assure prompt, appropriate action in cases of injury, illness, fire or other emergencies. In the absence of the Director of Nursing performs assessment in coordination with Administrator and marketing staff members on each resident prior to admission to determine if prospective resident’s care needs can be appropriately met by the facility. Communicates with Director of Nursing and Administrator about change is residents’ condition. Participates in resident service plan care conferences. Ultimately responsible for ensuring care department compliance with state and federal laws and facility policies and procedures in the absences of the Director of Nursing.
Responsible for providing direct resident care including daily bathing, dressing, personal hygiene assistance and medication reminding to residents in accordance with Resident Service Plans and as directed by Director of Nursing Services and nursing staff. Take and document resident vital signs as per Resident Service Plan. Assist residents to get ready for appointments. Reports concerns regarding resident to Director of Nursing Services, Administrator (or LPN on shift in absence of Director of Nursing Services and Administrator). Provides appropriate documentation regarding resident in accordance with policies and procedures and DSHS regulations.
Ensures resident and staff comfort through implementation of a consistent, preventative maintenance program schedule in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Contacts appropriate vendors to provide routine facility maintenance and effective repairs. Ensures facility grounds are attractively maintained. Provides hands on maintenance to facility as appropriate. Oversees facility safety program and implements MSDS program on all chemicals used by facility. Conducts fire drills consistently in accordance with regulations.
Responsible for assisting Administrator and ensuring that the front desk and all functions relating to the front desk run smoothly. Functions include answering phones with proper greeting, appropriately routing calls and taking messages. Assist residents with questions and assist with reservations for guest meals and use of guest dining room. Assist visitors to sign in and out and appropriately direct them where to go. Appropriately use fax and computer. Assist with paperwork and filing Ability to plan, implement and problem solve areas of responsibility in coordination with the Administrator is crucial to the success of the facility.
Provides assistance in all dining services functions under the supervision of Food Services Director in accordance with facility policies and procedures and federal, state and local guidelines. Performs dishwashing and cleaning duties. May assist with food preparation and serving duties as directed by Food Services Director or Cook.
Responsible for implementing resident recreational/activity programs in coordination with and as directed by Activities Director including driving activities bus. Such programs must be designed to meet the interests and physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each resident and may be implemented in a group or individual setting.
Responsible for preparing and serving regular and modified diets to residents in accordance with Hawaii Administrative Rules, Department of Health, Title 11, Chapter 12, Food Establishment Sanitation and Hawaii Administrative Rules, Department of Health, Title 11, Chapter 90, Assisted Living Facility.
The Resident Relations Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with prospective residents and family members, and assists them with the admission process. Resident Relations Manager will coordinate each resident admission, ultimately responsible for admission paperwork and process compliance. The individual in this position serves as a backup to the Sales Manager and in their absence, takes and follows-up on inquiries and conducts community tours.
Responsible for serving resident meals and attending to resident needs during meals in accordance with policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines.
